Should i get a macbook pro 13 or hp envy 14?

im entering college as a freshman in the fall and im in need of a laptop. ive heard great things about macbooks and hps, but im conflicted! I've been a windows user all my life, so I'm a little worried about how hard (or not) it would be to get used to the mac. I'm planning to use the laptop just for homework, internet browsing, watch some movies, and listening to music...no gaming or anything. My sister has an hp and she says the battery isn't great, i want something where the battery can last a whole day without charging or plugging in (6-7 hrs maybe)

Neither of those last that long for the battery charge. Both are pretty powerful computers and you should expect no more than a couple hours on a max charge. For your needs (apart from battery life), either will work fine. Only netbooks last for a long time (typically 8-12 hours).
MacBook Pro. It'll last you longer (HP laptops are plastic pieces of ****), OS X isn't hard to learn, Apple laptops' batteries tend to be excellent, and you can always install Windows on the MBP if you really need it.Should i get a macbook pro 13 or hp envy 14?

I would get the apple macbook because its better at everything and worth it. The hp envy is too pricey and its value is not great.
