What is the best laptop for college?

I am heading off to college in august and i am going to get a new laptop at that time. As of right now I really love the HP ENVY 14, because it is simply the best looking computer that I have found (other than Mac Book Pro which is more expensive).

Is the ENVY 14 a good pick for college?

This is what any laptop I get needs to have/be able to do:

* 15.6in or less

*backlit keyboard (surprisingly hard to find)

* decent dedicated graphics card

* below 2 grand

Any suggestions/input?What is the best laptop for college?
Try not to purchase a laptop simply because it looks good. Because you're using it for college, I suggest you find one that has features you would find useful. The internal hardware is what matters.

I would definitely go for a MacBook Pro. I personally own one, and it works amazingly well.

The HP ENVY 14 seems like a good choice, though.
I hear envy feels cheep.

I once had a XPS 1340, it was very sweet and it looked, felt and ran like it was a million bux.

But

It was HEAVY for a 13.4 (but everything was in there, LED the best kind P9600 CPU Geforce 9500-- this was 2 or 3 1340 generations back)
Geforce 210 or 310 is built into the latest generation.
I ran very hot but that was like 2 generations back... so make sure to return it within 6 days if they didn't fix that.

You will really LOVE the Screen, Raw power for a 13.4 and the keyboard is simply one of the best there is.What is the best laptop for college?
