Why are HP laptops bad (ive read many bad reviews and comments about them)? What notebook should i buy?

so well, i want the HP envy 14, it has everything i want for a very good price. my problem is that ive heard and read many bad comments about HP laptops (overheat, last 1 - 2 years, freezes, etc). so i dont know if i should buy this product. please help me decide if i should buy this laptop or other one.



i want a laptop of 700 - 1200 usd preferable with some nice features such as backlit keyboard, blu ray, bluetooth, optimus technology, etc.



- core i3 or i5

- video card better than Nvidia Geforce 310m (you can see the list at http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html)

- 320gb+ hard drive

- 4gb+ memory

- 13 - 16 screen

- good battery life (4+ hours is ok)

acer gives you all those and more for less than $800.

hd backlit led screen, hdmi out and long battery life.

had mine for 1 year and buying another one for my wife.

It is not only with HP, even others are not so good. However HP has recently release a new version of its dm3 notebook with intelligent cooling system.

I've heard that HP laptops are just cheaply made, and don't stand the test of time. Go SONY all they way. You get what you pay for as far as computers go. Vaio or bust for me. I have a brand new Sony Vaio VPCEE23FX that I bought from wal-mart exactly one week ago! Love it! Good Luck.
