I know macs are usually the answer to this question, but id prefer windows. Any other suggestions would be great.Best $1000 laptop for music production?

That envy is actually the best out of all the HP envy's. The other day it was on sale, 250 dollars off, but the sale is gone. However, I'd still get it. It's a GREAT deal, it has everything you need. Plus you can even game on it or something. The audio is amazing.Best $1000 laptop for music production?
As long as you have a dual core processor and at least 3gb of ram you will be fine for any kind of music production.

And with 1000 dollars you can buy one with way better specs than that.No computer is really going to be better than the next just go by what processor it runs and do a little google research.
The HP Envy was actually designed for music production, the first computer is $999 and the other is $1099. I've had some experience playing games on the second one and the sound quality is better then most laptops on the market, the specs for the base models of these computers are suprisingly good so you shouldn't need to custimize it. (I reccomend you get an external drive because music and videos can take up a lot of space)

You're buying an HP laptop for gaming? Good luck buddy.
i wouldn't bother going to Curry's or PC world or any place like that best thing to do is to get somebody to custom build you're laptop...and when it comes down to it you're going to be limited with a laptop cos they are designed for portable file storage really...but if its what you want then that's that i suppose... i just had my computer custom built for 拢850 i did abit of browsing and at Curry's or pc world the total cost could of been up to 拢4,000 so yeah definitely saved allot thereWhat laptop will be better for gaming and why ?
Both have similar specs: mobile Core i7 / 8GB DDR3, but the second one has a better GPU (HD 6630M). So that one. Still overpriced, though.

"Which one is good, HP or Lenovo?"

HP is...the Ford of the computing world. It sucked, but is getting better everyday. Lenovo is the BMW of the computing world. It's high tech, but expensive as water on mars; plus, you don't even know what the heck you're paying for!

Since you're going for a gaming computer which are mostly high teched, you might want to try Alienware because gaming computers is all they make. If you're willing to shell out money for a Lenovo, you can easily get a gaming computer from Alienware at that price.Which 1 is gud hp or lenovo?
For gaming hp is god

The same one that was answered to all your previous questions.
Taking everything into account, including the processors, memory, HDD memory and price.

HP Pavilion dv7-6154ea 17.3" Laptop - Steel Grey

    Sounds like the best option.

HOWEVER, for the price of 拢999.99 you REALLY are better off buying a gaming computer.

They will come at a better standard for gaming and the experience will be a lot better for your money.

Furthermore laptops really aren't meant for gaming, if you are looking for a gaming laptop, search that instead of the standard high quality office laptop. What laptop will be better for gaming and why ?
If im honest, theres no HUGE difference between those laptops at all in terms of needing it for gaming,
Although I would personally go for the first one..
Only afew reasons to why I say this

    1) Bigger hardrive space (2x500gb) So you'll have 1TB Hardrive space.. not needing to ever worry too much about doing regular cleanups..
    2) Screen size is bigger.. 17.3Inch compared with 14.5
    3) Price is cheaper too...

I can't really see any other main differences.. In terms of Processor power, they are the same.. And RAM exactly the same.. Both VERY good in terms of those two specs.

Although for the price of what you are looking at paying for that, You could perhaps get a far better deal getting a GAMING DESKTOP / PC instead...
The second one has a better video card in it. That's very important for gaming. Also, the second one has a faster rpm disk drive (7200rpm). That "usually" means faster load times, though that can vary by disk model.

Audio coming out my computer is quiet...?

The monitor on my computer has built in speakers, I know they're not the greatest or anything but they are very quiet. That doesn't bother me too much because I usually use my headphones anyway (sennheiser HD448), problem is that they are also very quiet. I have to put the volume up to 100% to be able to hear anything while I'm gaming or listening to music. On my laptop (HP Envy 14), I usually have the sound set up to 20% and it is plenty loud enough. How could I fix this issue?Audio coming out my computer is quiet...?
Try going into the sound file in the control panel to adjust the volume settings.

Also go to device manager /sound. Check for exclamation marks that would indicate a problem. Check the driver.

    Should I disable automatic updates?

I just got my hp envy 14 laptop yesterday. The operating system is windows 7.

I don't know very much about computers lol, but should I disable automatic updates? Are there any real benefits behind them? Some updates were automatically installed last night when I went to sleep, and I have no idea what they are honestly...Should I disable automatic updates?
don't think you would have much luck disabling auto updates anyway, but 99% of them are needed. kind of a pain sometime when it updates and everything slows. but mostly only do it once a month.
    NO!

If you use the internet.........you better keep the updates on auto and keep the virus protection up to date.

If you don't ....you will have trouble. Keep IE as you default browser. you can download any browser you like and run it- but keep IE as the default. That makes MS happy, and they will keep your comp clean.Should I disable automatic updates?
No, DO NOT DISABLE them. Basically, everytime windows makes a new update, they tell you what was wrong with the previous update. This basically gives hackers a "blueprint" on how to hack your computer, since they know whats wrong with it...

    ALWAYS update your computer!
I would never recommend that anyone disable automatic updates.
No, leave well alone, you are just asking for problems and issues otherwise.
